Notes & Words 2011: Benefiting Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland

A few months ago, The Family Crest was approached by New York Times bestselling author Kelly Corrigan (The Middle Place, Lift) about participating an event she has spearheaded two years in a row: Notes & Words – Musicians and Writers Onstage Together for Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland. The goal of this event is to raise one million dollars (!) for Children’s Hospital and Research Center.

Notes & Words is taking place on April 1, 2011, and it’s going to be great for several reasons. We’ll be sharing the stage with incredible musicians and authors, including Megan Slankard, HYIM, Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball, The Big Short), Beth Lisick (Helping Me Help Myself, Everybody Into the Pool), and Kelly Corrigan herself. We’ll be performing at the Fox Theater Oakland, which is a beautiful venue. Most importantly, it’s benefiting an organization that is absolutely necessary and that we are lucky to have in the Bay Area.

If you are interested in getting tickets, visit If you can’t make the event but want to contribute, you can make a donation on the Notes & Words website.

We are honored to be taking part in such a wonderful event and important cause. We hope to see you there.
